More information for the upcoming sequel of the anime adaptation based on Yūji Kaku’s manga has been released with Mappa once again in charge of production.
At the Jump Festa 2025 event, a new promotional video was revealed for the second season of the Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku anime based on the Anime News Network. It’s also confirmed that the anime will release in January 2026 with Crunchyroll streaming the series when it airs.
A Twitter post on the anime’s main account showcases the video and the confirmed release date.
Staff that’ll be returning to work on the second season includes Kaori Makita (Twittering Birds Never Fly: Don’t Stay Gold) as director at the Mappa animation studio with Twin Engine in charge of the planning. Akira Kindaichi (NieR:Automata Ver 1.1a key animator) will oversee the scripts, Akitsugu Hisagi (Maquia – When the Promised Flower Blooms key animator) will be working as character designer, and Yoshiaki Dewa (A Lull in the Sea) will compose the music. Lastly, Ayako Suenaga (D.Gray-man Hallow) is doing the color design.
New staff members have climbed on board for the sequel including Chika Toda (Jujutsu Kaisen 0) as the new director of photography and Junichi Higashi (Cowboy Bebop) as the new art director.
Previously, voice actor Ryōta Suzuki (Wind Breaker) has been confirmed for the role of Yamada Asaemon Shugen, who made his debut in the final episode of the first season.
The first season of the anime aired in April 2023 with a second season announced on the same day the anime ended.
Kaku started the manga in January 2018 and ended its run three years later in January 2021. The manga was released by VIZ Media digitally through the Shonen Jump service.
