Star Wars fans have been surprised with a shadow drop of a trailer for a new Star Wars animated miniseries. Said miniseries is set for a special Star Wars Day release on Disney Plus for May 4, 2025.
Following the tails of Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi (2022) and Tales of the Empire (2024, also a May 4 debut), Tales of the Underworld will focus on a pair of bounty hunters. The respective adventures for former Sith Acolyte Asajj Ventress and bounty hunter Cad Bane are presumably set between Episodes III and IV, judging by the presence of Imperial Stormtroopers as well as a mysterious Inquisitor Ventress will encounter.
On May 4, return to a galaxy outside the law. See the trailer for Tales of the Underworld, arriving with six all-new Star Wars Original shorts only on Disney Plus.
Tales of the Underworld is also presumed to have a similar structure to the aforementioned Tales miniseries. The miniseries will be split into six episodes, three episodes each for Ventress and Bane. The series will feature not only the voices of Nika Futterman and Corey Burton as the stars, but also those including AJ LoCascio, Artt Butler, and Dawn-Lyen Gardner, just to name a few (as reported by ComicBook).
Dave Filoni continues as supervising director, having prior Star Wars experience with Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008 movie and series), Star Wars: Rebels, The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, etc.
