Diego Luna’s Rebellion freedom fighter’s return draws ever so closer. Cassian Andor’s Disney Plus anthology series left off back in late 2022 will also be shaking up things with the episode release schedule.
Disney and Lucasfilm recently dropped the Andor Season 2 trailer on Monday February 24, and did so in style. Accompanying the Season 2 trailer is quite the unexpected and unusual music choice for the gritty Star Wars series – The Revolution Starts Now by Steve Earle.
In short, the Andor series focuses on Cassian Andor, who made his name known ever since his introduction in 2016’s Rogue One. Season 2 continues Cassian’s origins in joining the Galactic Civil War between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire, gradually leading up to the events of the Star Wars anthology movie. Even the trailer teases fans with the return of Ben Mendelsohn’s Director Orson Krennic and Forest Whitaker’s Saw Gerrera.
Additionally, the showrunners are changing the release schedule for Andor’s episodes, with three episodes released per week rather than just two episodes during release week, as reported by ComicBook. Season 2 will be spreading its 12 episodes in a span of four weeks.
The build up to Andor Season 2 has been going on for at least a few months. Prior promotions for the series took place during the last D23 Expo, exclusively to fans attending in person. And as a reminder, Andor Season 2 will premiere following the upcoming Star Wars Celebration Japan in Tokyo that runs April 18-20.
Andor Season 2 starts streaming on Disney Plus on April 22.
