Christmas music is in full swing and 2022’s Trombone Champ has included new tracks in this wacky music-addled adventure. The update came bundled with other content, too.
The news was shared in a holiday update blog post, accompanied by a video on YouTube, with the vid better detailing the larger-scale stuff added in the latest update — its two new holiday tracks and the achievement system. Outside of content, it also added improvements to the Switch version, like bug fixes and optimizations.
In terms of its achievements, as explained on Twitter, there are 15, and going for all of them is pretty tricky. We’re sure some will absolutely enjoy the challenge, though, as trophy and Platnium hunting exist. Below are the full patch notes.
New Content
- Two new holiday tracks: “O Christmas Tree” and “God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen!”
- There is now an achievements panel that appears on the homescreen after you have unlocked at least one achievement. These are just for fun and intended to mirror the type of achievements that PC and Mac users can unlock with Steam. They do not affect gameplay in any way! However, if you can unlock all of the achievements, send us a screenshot!
Improvements
- During gameplay, you can see if you’ve beaten your previous high score. Look for a small “New High Score” icon next to your score.
- If you play an entire song without missing a single combo, you now see “Perfect” in the score screen and receive more toots!
- Various optimizations.
Bugfixes
- Various small fixes to localized copy.
- Fixed tiny issue where the character’s hands would be in weird positions when a song started.
- Fixes to lyrics in “Hino Nacional Brasileiro.”
- Cards should now display in the correct font in English.
- Various other very small adjustments and fixes.
