If you were still clinging onto hope that The Day Before wasn’t a long-con scam, then you should probably know its CEO nuked themselves from Twitter. This comes after the disastrous launch of the zombie survival game from Fntastic.
Second Wind’s Nick Calandra compiled a thread of info on the wacky saga found on Twitter as the developer starts scrubbing itself from the net. Chief among those who wiped their existence included CEO Eduard Gotovtsev. While his Twitter has been completely wiped, his LinkedIn, so far, just scrubbed his involvement with Fntastic. Other accounts nuked include its YouTube, Medium, and website.
Meanwhile, the game itself can no longer be purchased, and there appears to be an internal struggle as the developer behind the game seems to clash with the publisher. Because of his mass exodus, this leaves fans who supported the project, even willing to pay the $39.99 it cost for Early Access out of luck and unable to actually reach any of the team.
It’s not too shocking that this all crumbled down, all the signs were there from shoddy business practices, false footage, overcharging for a lackluster product, and deceptive and highly selected footage used for marketing. Frankly, after it started decrying trademark issues, that’s when people really started cocking their heads and turning on the dev. Here we are now, though, not even a week after launch, and the dev and its makers are going into hiding.
