January is starting off with a bang if your a PlayStation Plus Subscriber. As is the case every month, subscribers are treated to three completely free games they download and play.
Shared on the PlayStation Blog we now know what January’s will be.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Starting off we have the biggest surprise of the bunch: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. This fast paced third-person looter-shooter, developed by Rocksteady, puts you in the shoes of the titular team as you stop supervillain Brainiac, and his brainwashed Justice League, from taking over the world.
Released last year to mixed reviews, the game was seen as a disappointment by many especially fans of the much loved Arkham series which Rocksteady also developed. In our review of the PC version we praised its core gameplay loop, but criticized its lackluster story and draining live-service elements.
This deal is only available on PS5.
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered
Next up is the remastered Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. The original Hot Pursuit was released back in 2010 and was developed by Criterion Games. It took the Need for Speed series back to its roots with more of a focus on high speed police chases and fast, sleek cars. The remaster updates the game with enhanced visuals, cross-platform multiplayer and all DLC content that was released.
This is the PS4 version but can be played on a PS5.
The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe
Finally we have arguably the best game on offer, The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe. This expanded re-imagining of the critically acclaimed, award winning indie game contains everything from the original 2013 release whilst expanding the world with new content, choice and secrets to find. Ultra Deluxe has also upgraded the visuals and includes a plethora of accessibility features.
You can get access to both the PS4 and PS5 version.
All of these games will be available to members on January 7 until February 3. Members have until January 6 to add last month’s games, It Takes Two, Aliens: Dark Descent, and Temtem, to their libraries.
