After months — and even years — of rumors circulating, Nintendo has finally revealed the Nintendo Switch 2. Yes, that is its name and we will see more in April.
On the heels tons of leaks from Nate the Hate and other big insiders, including today being its reveal, the day has finally come. We already knew it would be revealed sometime soon as its deadline is fast approaching; March 31 is the end of the fiscal year and Nintendo made it clear that was when it would be shown off. See the first-look below.
While not much was shared, the biggest thing in this short teaser was the reveal that it will have compatibility with a majority of Switch games, though cautions that not every Switch game will be compatible. Frankly, this was probably the smartest thing for the Big N to do as this will surely win over some people who are hesitant to jump over to the new and shiny console. This is understandable considering the original Switch has been around since 2017.
We’ll have a bit of waiting, unfortunately, as April 2 will mark a Switch 2-focused Nintendo Direct.
