NieR Re[in]carnation’s services are due to expire on April 29 after nearly three years of operation. The mobile game has been out globally since July 28, 2021, and further added to the Nier series wide span of existing games. The developers are set on implementing this with the conclusion of a final chapter in the works that will be released on March 28, one month before the shutdown.
The statement from Square Enix’s website reads:
“We would like to express our deepest gratitude to our players for your patronage over the 2.5 years since we launched on July 28, 2021. Until the end of service, we will continue to add content and characters, as well as hold various events and campaigns, so we hope you will continue to enjoy NieR Re[in]carnation until the end.”
As likely or unlikely a turn of events this may be, some fans might understandably be crushed at hearing this news, regardless of the fact that the game has existed for about three years.
To compensate for this, the developers promise a Story Completion Countdown Event from the release of Act II: The Return to the release of Act III: Transmigration. Four campaigns will be held during the Story Completion Countdown Event.
One campaign will also feature an increase in the standard drop rate by 10 for story quests and include three four-star Premium Summon Tickets as a gift.
Here is the full schedule provided based on all the upcoming events leading to the game’s finale:
