New Grand Theft Auto VI trailer released

In wake of the news that Rockstar is delaying the newest entry in the blockbuster Grand Theft Auto franchise, the developers have now released the second official trailer…randomly on a Tuesday.

The trailer shows off a lot more about the game’s world, characters and story for us to sink our teeth into. For starters our main – and most likely playable – characters are Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. The trailer hints at these two being romantically involved with one another as well as partners in crime. The trailer description states that when a relatively easy score goes wrong for the pair they find themselves in the midst of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida.

Leonida is one of the many locations in the game. There is also the Grassrivers, a bayou used to export drugs and other items to the mainland, these look to be under the control of a group of a dirty swamp gang. To contrast this we have Mount Kalaga, a wilderness with some stunning scenery and motocross activities that players might be able to participate in. However, the star of the show is Vice City, returning since it’s last appearance in Vice City Stories. It was speculated for some time that Vice City would be the main location this time, but various screenshots released on Rockstar’s website confirm that we’ll be returning to the fictional city next year.

The most disappointing part of the trailer is that we still haven’t seen any gameplay. Whilst the graphics are nothing short of outstanding, it begs the question whether the game will look this good when it’s finally in player’s hands. With a release date all but confirmed by Rockstar – until another delay – we should be getting our first glimpse of gameplay hopefully soon. And if the game plays as well as it looks, we might all be in for a truly unforgettable experience.
