Ubisoft has confirmed a vague release window for Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, both poking holes in while also giving credence to previous rumors. Last we heard, it was slated to get a reveal in May, a gameplay showcase in July, and finally launching in November.
Buried in the recent financial report (thanks, VGC), the French developer revealed the game to be a fiscal year 2025 release, meaning it could launch at any time from April 2024 to March 2025. It will also be joined by Star Wars Outlaws, the much-anticipated open world action-adventure. It noted that it looks forward to revealing more of what’s to come from the Ubi teams working on the games, hoping it will live up to the “gamers’ expectations.”
Ubisoft Quebec spearheads things with Codename Red, and it does confirm things, including that the game takes place in feudal Japan. The game will feature the same creative director as it enters “period three” of the franchise, with over 200 million copies sold across its many, many, many games since its launch in 2007.
“We look forward to revealing the full extent of the creative capabilities of Ubisoft’s teams, who are working hard to make these games a success that will live up to gamers’ expectations.”
