Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is certainly going to be under a finetooth comb, considering this will be the first COD release since Microsoft snagged Activision Blizzard in a massive deal following its acquisition of Bethesda. Well, an early access beta has been revealed for late next month and the following month will foster an open beta.
As reported on the debut episode of the COD POD (via CharlieIntel), the IP’s official podcast, the early access beta will kick things off on August 30 and run through September 4. A few days later, its open beta will start on September 6 and run through September 9.
An important — and landmark — note is Black Ops 6’s betas will not be tethered to a single platform. Traditionally, Activision kept its betas available only on PlayStation consoles, but with the purchase, it seems Microsoft is wanting everyone to enjoy the experience with the betas available for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
Set in the 1990s, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is the next mainline entry in the IP’s more era-charged Black Ops line. It’s also been billed as the reason behind the price increase for Game Pass.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 releases to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC on October 25.
