Bethesda Softworks has announced that it has delayed the next-gen update for Fallout 4, which would make it run natively on current-gen consoles. And of course, it seems Fallout 3 is not getting any love.
The Fallout team announced on Twitter that the update has been pushed back to give the team a little more time. Generally speaking, this is actually a positive, as the team is willing to delay something to ensure it’s going to at least run better. Odds are, though, it will release with many of the bugs — like killer cars — that the original version has. That said, we’re a sucker for a good, sensible remaster.
Considering the dev team had no updates throughout the entire year, the delay isn’t too shocking. In case you’ve missed it, Bethesda’s next-gen Fallout 4 update is poised to offer Creation Club content, bonus bug fixes, and a 4K mode. It’s worth noting that while the developer has had plenty of time to fix bugs, it seems like it often overlooks some of the most notorious. Perhaps with Microsoft breathing down its neck this update might actually help the game.
Thank you for your patience with us as we work on the Fallout 4 next-gen update. We know you're excited, and so are we! But we need a bit more time and look forward to an exciting return to the Commonwealth in 2024.
