It didn’t even take Japanese developer Pocketpair a whole day to surpass one million copies sold of its “Pokemon with guns” game Palworld. The game entered Steam Early Access and Xbox while also finding a home on Game Pass.
On Twitter, the official Palworld account shared the news with the public, with Xbox boss Phil Spencer chiming in, congratulating the team on the successful launch. Per SteamDB, it seems the game has reached yet another peak of over 515K players. This, of course, only accounts for Steam owners and not the more accessible Game Pass, which offers the game free of charge with the subscription.
If you aren’t familiar with the game, it is deeply rooted in some similar mechanics that you would find in games like Pokemon or other monster-capturing simulators, but with a few twists. Instead of just battling, these creatures can be used to do things around the base, you can craft, build, mine, and explore the world around you. The developer is also already working on some improvements, stuff like PvP and cross-play in particular.
Palworld has sold over 1 million copies in about 8 hours since release!
