Get ready to rediscover the Legend of Grimrock all over again on the Nintendo Switch. It is scheduled to be released on January 15 on the Switch eShop for $14.99.
Accompanying the announcement, developer Almost Human revealed that the Switch version incorporates several new features. These include an overhauled user interface and optimization for the Joy-Con controllers. This should make the game perfect to play on the couch or on the go.
Almost Human teased players with the following synopsis:
“Forced into a desolate mountain with ancient dungeons, a team of four prisoners must survive when many others have fallen. Encounter challenging puzzles and even more dangerous enemies within the dungeons, and hold out hope to survive.”
Originally, The Legend of Grimrock was released on PC, then ported to Mac, Linux, and iOS, followed by a sequel. Between the two games, over 1.5 million copies were sold, solidifying their position as modern classics within the first-person dungeon-crawling role-playing game genre.
Hopefully, if this port proves successful, we may see Legend of Grimrock 2 coming to the Switch as well.
