Apparently the Fallout 3 remaster isn’t dead just yet, but it seems to be a ways away. Rumors surged during the Microsoft acquisition trial back in 2023, many of the code-names found in a document could be linked to a game, such as DOOM Year Zero, which looks to be DOOM: The Dark Ages, and Project Hibiki, which was likely Hi-Fi Rush.
Reliable insider NateTheHate shared on Twitter that the remaster is still happening, but “won’t be for a while.”
Odds are this remaster is a bit on the backburner compared to Bethesda’s other big projects like continued support of Starfield and Fallout 76, with the latter getting a massive update that rewards long-term players by letting them play as Ghouls. Meanwhile, Fallout 4, while “complete,” saw a surge of players thanks to the huge Fallout: London mod.
We also have the successful Fallout TV show, which while it planned on filming late last year, it delayed the filming due to wildfires in California.
