Chainsaw Man is one of the most popular anime of 2022, and deservingly so. Currently, a sequel to the film is already on its way and some exciting information has just been released.
Crunchyroll News reported that the Jump Festa 2025 event has revealed that Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc has a new trailer unveiling a 2025 release date in Japan.
MAPPA’s official YouTube channel uploaded the second teaser trailer which has already garnered more than 2.5 million views.
Two key visuals were also revealed on the main X account for Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man. One image depicts the titular character looking ferocious as ever with the other image showing Denji and Reze in a café like they’re officially dating.
Black Clover’s fourth and tenth episode director Tatsuya Yoshihara will be directing the movie with Hiroshi Seko (Twittering Birds Never Fly: The Clouds Gather) returning to write the script. Kazutaka Sugiyama will make his return as character designer with Sota Yamazaki (Dragon Ball Super: Broly inbetween animator) as sub character designer. Sōta Shigetsugu (One Piece Film Red key animator) will be directing the action animation while Shōichi (Look Back second key animator) is responsible for the main animation.
Two people will be responsible for designing the devils which includes Riki Matsuura (Garden of Remembrance key animator) and Kiyotaka Oshiyama, who directed the recent critically acclaimed anime film Look Back which is based on another one of Fujimoto’s work. The music will be composed by the one and only kensuke ushio (Dandadan). As usual, MAPPA will be handling the production while Toho will be distributing the film.

Denji became “Chainsaw Man”, a boy with a devil’s heart, and is now part of Special Division 4’s devil hunters. After a date with Makima, the woman of his dreams, Denji takes shelter from the rain. There he meets Reze, a girl who works in a café.
The television anime of Chainsaw Man directed by Ryū Nakayama premiered on October 11, 2022 with Crunchyroll streaming the anime the same time it aired in Japan.

Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita.
One day, Denji is betrayed and killed. As his consciousness fades, he makes a contract with Pochita and gets revived as “Chainsaw Man” — a man with a devil’s heart.
