Since KeokeN Interactive’s initial release of Deliver Us The Moon in 2018, the game has seen multiple releases across various platforms. Although the initial Switch release was canceled in 2020, it is finally available, four years later.
Deliver Us The Moon is a story-driven adventure puzzle game that began its journey through Kickstarter in 2016. Its sequel, Deliver Us Mars, is not yet available on the Switch.
The game takes approximately five hours to finish, with around eight hours needed for completionists.
To the Moon!
Earth is dying and doesn’t have enough resources to survive. However, a newly discovered form of energy is being transferred to Earth from the Moon. Before the game begins, the Moonbase has experienced a blackout and is no longer supplying Earth with power. The player takes on the role of an astronaut who, after the blackout, is sent to the Moon to discover what caused it, restore power to Earth, and prevent humanity’s extinction.
The story unfolds as players discover emails and hologram logs that slowly reveal the events that led to the blackout and the characters involved. While never meeting the characters, the logs do a brilliant job introducing the player to them, as the voice acting is very well done. The emotions elicited guide the story toward an incredibly satisfying finale that concludes the story but leaves players excited for more.
Mobile-friendly Moon
The game consists of exploration and puzzles; there is no combat, but there is one sequence in which the player has to traverse an area being patrolled by bots. A lot of puzzles are based around restoring power to systems with the help of an ASE bot that remains your only companion for the game. The puzzles are engaging and occasionally challenging but never unfair.
While playing, I experienced some drops in resolution, some pop-in, and the game became a bit blurry in certain environments, but overall the experience remained smooth and playable. KeokeN is an Indie studio, therefore I do not expect the same levels of graphical quality as that of a Triple-A title.
Over the Moon
Crafting a space adventure as an Indie studio is no easy feat. The love that KeokeN has put into the game is reflected in the stunning visuals, immersive exploration, human story, and emotional soundtrack.
Deliver Us The Moon is available now on Nintendo Switch for $19.99. It’s also available for the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
